Metal Flake

To make the Metal Flake additives truly shine, follow these recommended ratios:

  • 1 heaping tablespoon per sprayable quart of base clear or pound of clear powder coat for a light sparkle.
  • 2 heaping tablespoons per sprayable quart of base clear or pound of clear powder coat for a heavy sparkle.

Avoid adding too much flake, as it may clog standard spray gun tips (1.4-1.5 size).

Ghost Pearl

Ghost Pearl is highly effective in small quantities:

  • 1 level teaspoon per sprayable quart of clear.
  • 1 (25-gram) bag per gallon of sprayable clear base or 1-4 pounds of clear powder coat.

Excessive use can alter your base coat color. It’s better to apply multiple coats than to change the ratio.

A great product we believe in!

Candy Pearls

Candy Pearls offer both translucent and opaque metallic finishes:

  • For a translucent effect: 1 (25-gram) bag per 2 sprayable quarts of clear base.
  • For a more solid/metallic effect: 1 (25-gram) bag per sprayable quart of clear base.

Test different applications to achieve your desired look.

Powder Coating Applications

Candy Pearls can also tint clear powder coat. Start with 1/2 bag per pound of clear powder, increasing up to 1 bag if suspension remains stable.

Trust and Verify with every application!

Thermochromic Temperature Change Pigment

1 (25-gram) bag treats 1 sprayable quart of base clear. These pigments perform best in oil or solvent-based base clears. If using a 2-part clear, let the pigment dissolve in a pint of reducer for 24 hours before mixing with clear paint.

Thermochromic pigments have limited UV and heat resistance, so always test before use.

Color-Shifting Chameleon Pearl Pigments

1 (25-gram) bag treats 1 quart of sprayable base clear. For the best color-shifting effect, apply over a black base. Testing different base colors can also yield unique results.

  • Our 39 series pigments appear colored in the bag.
  • Our 59, 69, and 79 series (“Ghost Chameleon Pearls”) appear white in the bag but shift colors when applied.
